Does anybody know the part numbers of the packing or seal kit for the lower hydraulic cylinders on a 500 series loader? I have been searching online and I am not having very good luck finding anything without a manual. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the Baum connection. Placed my order this morning as well. While I couldn't find the packing kit part number in my old May 1965 parts catalog I did find that the individual seal part part numbers are the same for the lift and tilt cylinders.

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! I have been meaning to find part #'s for my AC500 loader to rebuild the cylinders. Just wanted to say that I read this post and decided to give BAUM Hydraulics a call. 3 min phone conversation and all 4 kits are being shipped today here to Maryland!! $25.92ea I believe is extremely fair.

New to the forum. And reading through this and the knowledge base has helped a lot. I was able to find components to rebuild my model 500 loader main lift cylinder on an AC170. The one main lift cylinder is leaking bad but the rod looks good. My guess is that seals are extremely old and cracked.
Does anyone know the best way to remove the nut retainer? |

The best way is to use the official tool from Allis-Chalmers from back in the day. Every A-C dealership had one. Looks like a spanner wrench made to fit into the two slots.

Thank you. I might make one as the other cylinders will probably need rebuilt in the near future. I’m debating on whether to do them all at once or not.
