Nah Steve I was just thinking out loud. I was talkin with someone who had said 200 rears were heavier than 190's, and for the folks with the earlier XT's that have tranny issues I wondered if it could solve their problems if a bad engine 200 could be bought cheaply and bolted onto an XT.

Yes, a 200 rearend could be made fit with very minimal changes. The transmission is essentially the same between a 190XT and a 200......nothing different enough to warrant swapping just to get a newer rearend.

biggest significance is the better brakes from a 200.

On 200's prior to sn 4001, they had the same band/disc brakes as the late 190XT III's.

I dunno bout the brake thing , had them completely redone on a 200 once - the first year was good - then every time you,d use the dam thing one would hang or something would happen to it
