The PTO gear on my wd45 is shreaded. I have a 45 WC I've kept for parts, my ? Is there any difference between the PTO gear box on the wc will it work fine on my wd45.

my wd service manual says that the earlier pto housings were made out of cast iron and the newer ones were malleable iron. it shows a part number in the book 223708 for the cast iron one. if yours doesn't have that number i would guess it would be the same. kevin

Pretty sure they are completely different.  The WD and the 45 even had a slightly different box, but were interchangable.  I'll bet you need a new intermediate gear too.  We have both.
