Took the bottem cover off the clutch/flywheel housing...found a few pieces of metal. Never had any trouble with it, so I have no Idea how long they've been there. Anything I should wory about? Maybe from the starter? I remember something may have broke on the starter and maybe that was why it was rebuilt? Also noticed a grease zerk in there? does this need to be regularly greased? Thanks
NOTE: PICS BIG FOR MAGNIFICATION

I think it would be from the ring gear and starter.

And the zerk would be on the throw-out bearing? If so its good to keep it greased up.

A little goes a long way. Don't want excess to get on the clutch.

Thanks for adding that Charlie, probably a pump of grease once a year is plenty, if the traactor is used a fair amount one pump twice a year.

Thanks, I'll probably do the twice a year, it's probably not used anymore than 10 hours a month, but when it is used the clutch gets a work out

Also, Is there supposed to be a gasket for that cover (the entire thing) I noticed a little oil drip on the bolts (reason I took it off in the first place)

No gasket, there's nothing to hold in there,it's just a cover to keep crud from getting on your clutch and throwout bearing,

That would make sense. I knew something broke in the starter so grandpa had the whole thing rebuilt, this was 3 or 4 years ago, so I couldn't remember what broke. Guess it must have been the bendix.
