Steiner indicates you can upgrade the rear seal for a CA from felt to neoprene if you use a D10 seal retainer.  Is that recommended or needed?  I don't think there's been any issues with the rear seal so far (and I've already bought the felt one in a kit).

Well, I bit the bullet anyway.  Brother is worried about the felt seal.  Don't think there was any evidence of a leak.  The clutch and pressure plate were newish looking.

The engine in my CA-1 has a leaky rear main seal. The plan, such as it was, was to rebuild a 125 that is on the stand. Swap engines and fix the one currently in the tractor. It's a darn good runner, just leaks a bit. Started this plan back in 2020. Bought the 756 and it became the focus. Then deracio hit... Always bigger fish to fry!

I'm ok with "upgrading".  Was just wondering if the D10 seal retainer will really fit on the 125 :)

Wish I could help but just don't know. We'll both have to cross that bridge when we get there.
