7020, 200 pumping 60 hours non stop

What are you pumping out of.

folks around here plumb a 300/500 gallon fuel tank onto their tractors. you have 2 nice lookers there!

We are pumping water from inside the levy to the creek on the other side, which runs into the Mississippi . When the river is normal the water simply runs out though a pipe. But when the river level is high any rain water has to be pumped out.  Trying to keep the water off in case it ever stops raining long enough to plant.  The 200 is running a lift pump, I don't recall where Dad found it, but is has vertical shaft that goes down through a casing to the water, pumps it up and out.

  What is a murphy switch?

Murphy switches are a special oil pressure and temp gauge with limits that can be set that will automatically shut down the engine if the oil pressure is too low or the temp gets too high. Remember Murphy's law ? " if it can happen, it eventually will happen"  

Most irrigation dealers should have Murphy gages on the shelf. Any place that sells stationary engines would probably have them. We have always used them on tractors and engines where you need safety units to shut down the machine for low water pressure, over heating, low oil pressure or level of oil, over heating motor.

So....what method is used to actually shut it down? A mechanical device that closes fuel stop? How is that powered?

I found one on ebay that looks just like yours for $259 plus shipping although it says that the fuel solenoid valve is not included.  Looks like the Solenoid is about $110.  Both look high quality and certainly cheaper than a ruined engine.  I never knew these existed so thanks for the info.

Both of my 440's have murphy gauges in them, never could see need for that in them, but the factory put them in.
