So I found this online.  Is this a 417 loader?  Series I D17.  It appears the hydraulic oil is stored in a loader pillar??   The hosing looks like a hot mess.  Looks like a cylinder is damaged..Can replacements be found easily?  Comments?  What you think is a fair offer? Dealer wanted <5K....I dont think so....  I really want the loader, will probably resell the tractor.

Around here you have a 2500.00 tractor and a 500.00 loader. I've seen them both sell in the past year.

Yes, that is the 417 loader.  To buy that loader complete would cost around $2000 if it looks as good as that one.  The hydraulic hoses can be replaced and cleaned up as needed.

Yes—- that is a 400 series loader. That looks like to much money for that tractor, maybe if it was a series 4 with the AC loader. I have an extra 400 loader that came off a 5040 that I bought to keep around. Not much difference to the 400 loader I have on a 175, just minor fabrication to the engine frame. If you can’t find one to fit the d17 for a reasonable price, let me know. Think I only have about 600$ in it.

I've got a slightly later D17, factory LP with the same loader but in much better shape.  Bought it a few years ago for $1500 Cn. for the complete unit.  Just needed new rear tires which I already had anyway.  I know I got a heck of a deal!!

You're looking at several $100 to replace the hoses. I presume the loader has a separate hydraulic pump. I don't see any cylinder damage, but one might be leaking at the seals.
