I ALMOST got that Green Bug the other day, a slightly rough 6045 FWA with Self Leveling loader, less than 2500 hours, needed two new fronts but otherwise decent. $34900 kind of set me back on my heels!! I am more inclined for less than $20k budget wise!! May look into a CIHNH or actual NH next time I am nearer their operations.

My experience with the last 6080 had nothing to do with Allis quality absolutely zero. Previous owner did zero maintenance if he didn’t have to and the dealer should have scrapped her for parts instead selling it as a repairable tractor. Fact is the newest Allis tractors are 34 years old still a few good ones but they are getting scare. My big horse is a Deere more will follow. I couldn’t be to anti orange I bought two last year.

My dad bought his first brand new tractor early in 1970. It's a Case 830 diesel, one of the last built. At almost age 15 I argued for a new Allis-Chalmers but the A-C dealer was 15 miles away in the wrong direction according to dad. He passed the Case / Massey Ferguson dealer and the International dealer on his way to work and the John Deere dealer was across the street from where Dad worked. Since Dad worked full time with a lot of overtime his time available for the farm was very limited. Convenience won out and we got a Case. I was so excited to learn to drive the new Case. I would take the owner's manual out to the shed and sit on the tractor reading the manual. What a step up from the 2 WD's we had! When Dad was ready to trade off the old Case I made him a cash offer. The dealer said "Better take Dan's offer, Harold. I can't give you that much for the old Case." So now the Case resides with my A-C's. And it will always be Dad's first new tractor. (I still have the 2 WD's.)

Like I said, look at that front axle! I would say no problem pulling a 3 bottom plow.
At $16,800, compared to a new pickup, the tractor is way cheaper. Do that same comparison in the year 1973, the pickup is cheaper.
If it weighs 5050 pounds then the cost is just $3.32 per pound. Compare that to name brand but dumb-hunk-of-iron implements (mower,plows, discs). My Woods mower cost 4.30/pound a few years ago.
The next model, 5055 has a turbo charger. So a lot more stuff under the hood. I would say good choice. Maybe save up a few bucks and upgrade to the telescoping draft links.

You should have brought a 4wd version. And a smaller 4wd unit would do more than larger 2wd. We have a couple green tractors, 4620 hydro & 5065M both fwa and love them. We started selling FWA-4wd compacts in 70's and people 1st hought were crazy. Until they tried one! Now around here 95% or more of big and small tractors are fwa.

I think Ryan did ok that’s why I looked at them and why I am buying 2wd tractors for hay and bush hogging. We have a fwa Kubota with industrial tires and a loader but after it everything’s two wheel drive- it’s all in what you are doing with the tractor

It is turbo charged and has intercooler. Very happy so far just need to get rid of all this water so I can test it out

I stopped in at the local JD dealer. Took a look at the 5045E, it does have a turbo. Also the dealer said they could match the 16,800 price. It has 14.9 tires. If they can match the price in $NY, they can do that price anywhere. But rebates or special deals expire at the end of the month.

$16,800 for a new tractor with warranty or 8-$10,000 for a 35 year old tractor with who knows how many hours. Hmmm I got $13,000 in my latest 6080 without a loader seen sale results for 5085E mfwd and loader for $20,000

There are a whole lot of very good tractors around that can be bought for a whole lot less than 8-10,000$ that is for sure.For an example I bought an Oliver 1550 for $2000 have spent about $700 on it putting it in good working condition.So I'll have $13,000 left to to spend on it over a new tractor.Plus I have a tractor I like better from the get go.And no one really has a 'new' tractor once its bought home its a used tractor.All in what a person wants really ''new" doesn't do a thing for me.
