Since you lose the hi/lo function of the power director when you have the shuttle, are your speeds the same as the low side of the pd or the high side? |

Forward is the high side, reverse is the low side. For loader work this gives you an almost perfect ratio.

Yea, I can fix that.....

I was just thinking if I converted one for a brush hog tractor how the speeds would be. I do a lot of mowing in 2nd high, but I also go to 2nd low a lot in the heavy stuff...and it is a lot handier to slip the pd in low than high. I don't think it would work very well.

If you convert a power director to a shuttle, the PTO rpm will be off a mile. I think it will be 7-800 rpm. Had a neighbour convert a D-15 II years ago and that was a problem for him. Reverse and forward will be the same speed as the high side.

Calvin, I thought thatthe counter shaft for the reverse came off the low speed shaft in the torque tube. So I thought that reverse would be a slower than forward.
If I ever get my D-15 Ind. working maybe I could see for myself.lol
