Since you lose the hi/lo function of the power director when you have the shuttle, are your speeds the same as the low side of the pd or the high side?

Forward is the high side, reverse is the low side. For loader work this gives you an almost perfect ratio.

Yea, I can fix that.....

So Eldon........Could a person assume that maybe a tractor with a shuttle will be added to your fleet soon? Darrel

I was just thinking if I converted one for a brush hog tractor how the speeds would be.  I do a lot of mowing in 2nd high, but I also go to 2nd low a lot in the heavy stuff...and it is a lot handier to slip the  pd in low than high.  I don't think it would work very well.

If you convert a power director to a shuttle, the PTO rpm will be off a mile. I think it will be 7-800 rpm.  Had a neighbour convert a D-15 II years ago and that was a problem for him. Reverse and forward will be the same speed as the high side.

Calvin, I thought thatthe counter shaft for the reverse came off the low speed shaft in the torque tube. So I thought that reverse would be a slower than forward.

If I ever get my D-15 Ind. working maybe I could see for myself.lol
