Are there any advantages or disadvantages to running rasp concave bars in soybeans vs the standard concave? I have some soybeans with grassy areas but no weeds I'll be harvesting with the K2.

I thought rasp concave bars were for hard to thresh crops that crack easily.

Aggressive cylinder bars (every other rib ground off) matched to regular channel concaves offers more gentle threshing not to mention increased capacity.

I would say, if it won't take grass through with Chanel concave, you need new cylinder bars and lower clearance. MACK

The Operator's Manual states "The rasp concave may be used in a hard to thresh crop where seed is easily cracked, or in a straw condition that is hard to break up to let the threshed seed fall through." I used the standard concave last time in soybeans with good success, but didn't have any grass in them. I have the rasp bars on hand and was just looking for any first hand experiences. |
