Statement from R. Lee Ermey's long time manager, Bill Rogin: It is with deep sadness that I regret to inform you all that R. Lee Ermey ("The Gunny") passed away this morning from complications of pneumonia. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Semper Fi, Gunny. Godspeed.

Semper fi, Gunny. One of a rare breed of actors in Hollyweird.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

Just think if he would of been a  MODERATOR on here .
He who dies with the most toys is,
nonetheless ,still dead.

I love to watch the Military History Channel - Mail Call and got to know him there.  Frankly, I remember Full Metal Jacket but did not place him there.
I hold "Gunny" in very high regard.  Even today on the Military History Channel I hear his voice on some of the sections.  Simply irreplaceable.  Will really miss him.
I am surprised that the  Military History Channel has not mentioned his passing.
Good Luck!
