I don't think you can. I hunted for then about a year ago now and couldn't find them. The serries 1 mulfer that stiners sells for the d15 and d17 is junk sounds all high pitch tin and is little more then a straight pipe with a bigger pipe around it and holes between the two. I ended up ordering the serries 2 mulfer they offer oval. It requires you cut a hole in the hood and that you put a mulfer adaptor pipe into the manifold but it sounds much better. Not sure how much quiter it is but it is much lower pitch and sounds good. So that was my solution to my 2 tractors they got one of the factory upgrades to serries 2 just about 60 years later.

For the B C and CA, those polished stainless mufflers have the same construction as a Nelson. I think if you check with Tony Carbaugh he has a muffler that's built like a Nelson inside but doesn't have the hood on them to go down over the manifold. Seems like he adds the hood part. I'd check with Tony and see what he can do.

The ca Nelson mufflers that djs sells will also work on a d14-d15. Just have to make 2 small cuts to bend the bottom of the muffler around the manifold. You won't see them unless you take hood off. A friend of mine has a stainless one from djs on his d15. Sounds just like a original Nelson.

It works good.  I just had to cut the mounting hole out a bit for a d12.  Doesn't quite sound like a Nelson, but way better than stanleys. It was worth the extra cost to look and sound similar to the original.

Hey Dennis,
You might want to call Nelson Global Products as they did not answer my emails last summer but responded right away when I called to get my Nelson CA muffler.  They check to see if they have any on hand or when the next production run will take place.  As they are a wholesaler, they had to ship it to one of their distributors.  In my case, they sent it to Cummins NPower in White Bear Lake, MN but I am sure they will tell you their closest dealer to northern Illinois.

Ted:
I'm pretty sure that the muffler in your link is for the WD/WD45 and early D17 tractors.  The Nelson #04566T is the one that fits the late B, CA, D10, D12, D14, and early D15.  I've run into trouble finding this one in the past.  The last one I bought was one of the old style Walker mufflers which has been OK, but I don't think the quality was as good as a Nelson.

If that was a source for WD45 Nelson mufflers, why wouldn't it also be a source for all Nelson mufflers?

I'm also in the market for a muffler for a gas Series II D-15. Is there a Nelson for this? It's an oval shape.

For some reason only the round ones are available. Have not heard of any oval "Nelson" mufflers still being produced unless you find some NOS in a box sitting somewhere
