I was wondering, is there a special tool that takes out a needle see on a Maverl carburetor? It looks like it may be a big white screwdriver would work, but having trouble trying to find one. Any ideas? Thanks.

Use a sickle section or a harden piece of metal that will fit the slot. MACK

might boil the carb in hot water to help loosen up if it is TIGHT.

Mike has a good idea. To remove stubborn seats for the needle valve, I use a GM brake spoon for adjusting brakes. Fits in the slot nice n' snug, and if you need a little extra torque on the real stubborn seats, I put my small adjustable wrench on the blade and get a little more leverage. Make sure you have the body of the Carb firmly anchored in the vise. Don't ask me how I know that....... If you have to tackle getting the nozzle out, (which can be a real bear sometimes) I took a large screwdriver, test fit the blade in the jet slot on a spare nozzle, then I ground the sides of the blade down till it fit nicely into the cavity without hitting the threads, and crank the nozzles out ever so slow. A screwdriver with a square shank is a plus just in case ya gotta' git' that small adjustable back out again to crank a stubborn nozzle out. The only time I have an issue trying to get a nozzle out is if somebody already been there and totally screwed up the jet slot. Now you have a REAL problem goin' on....! Steve@B&B

All of the above suggestions! I have a couple ultrasonic cleaners, and I use Il Steve's boil trick after I've had the Ultra sing to it for a while (all the fine crud flows out). If they're still stuck in, I put 'em in boiling water for about 15 minutes. Wear appropriate hand protection after you lift 'em out, and hold them good and solid, use a tool ground-to-fit-tight.

Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.
