i think that they only used 3
different engine in the b tractor

Waukesha  Original engine,
used in 1937 on the first 96 tractors built

Allis-Chalmers BE vertical I-head
Second engine, used until 1943, SN 64500

Allis-Chalmers CE
Final engine, used from 1943 on, SN 64501

Basically the same engine was used in an RC with an R in front of the numbers instead of the BE or CE. The R may have also been used in a power unit??????????

I believe that would be the serial number of a 'B' assembled in the UK

an English B

Perhaps the UK guys will chime in ( when they get up !! )

The R prefix is found on the 60H power units as on the RC. Later 60H models had a CR engine prefix.

Also low compression kerosene pistons and manifold, but then all EBs were, there never was a gas burner, MOST parts are interchangeable with the US bs, but not all, such as the clutch and release assembly and front wheel hubs and bearings. the whole assembly has to be changed, not just parts......been there               got the T shirt.......
