have a 2005 Husqvarna 22 HP BRIGGS - 54 inch deck - 3speed HI/LO garden tractor that i have used a lot.. 21 year old and NEVER worked on the carb... Now it has a sputter / cough at anything below 1000 RPM... thought it might be the plugs, so i cleaned them - looked OK... thought it has 21 year old CARB, maybe needs a clean.. Took it apart ( double barrel) and all the gaskets and o-rings are BRITTLE !! .

Looked on line for a KIT and they are about $12.... Saw that you could buy a China CARB for $18. that fits 21- 22- 23- 24 - 25 HP engines... EVERRY VEE engine they ever built ?? HOw can that be ???.... Well, i bought a Chink carb for 2 chain saws, a weed eater and a leaf blower over the last 5 years and they are all GREAT... so i thought, WHY NOT, Only $18 bucks !!!

Installed yesterday and fired it up.. RUNS GREAT !!.... Idle was about 1000 RPM so i dropped that a little with the idle screw.. other than that NO MODS NEEDED ! Read on line that the plastic manifold can warp and suck air and cause  "bad idle"... mine was pretty much flat, but i put a thin layer of Permatex on it anyway !

I have had GREAT LUCK with this little China Carbs..

GREAT, I 've also had GREAT success with those 'cheap china carbs' . Keep several on the shelf.
Yes ago, Honda wanted $230+ for carb only, 9Hp. I swapped one off my 9HP 'offshore' engine. 1st pull, started and ran perfect. Since guy knew carb was $230, he was happy to pay me $300 to have his machine 'up and running'. Cost me $20 to replace the carb.

What I don't understand is how Kubota can sell me a rear tire, on rim with valve , full of air for $340, yet the tire only is $500 !
