Still looking at tractors ran across a B for cheap BUT it has a hole in the exhaust manifold and jumps out of third gear. also electric start was added later im quessing because it has no charging system. guy is asking $800 . Is it worth the gamble or keep looking? thanks sod breaker

i wouldnt buy a B with transmission problems. they simply arent worth the $ to fix. so many out there cheaper than that with no major problems, id pass. i know of 3 just off the top of my head around here that would be a better value

Hmm...$800...not a bad deal if the tranny didn't jump. Since it jumps, I'd say $500 or less. B's and C's just aren't worth much, which I personally like. (Cheaper power!)
Someone got lucky two Saturdays ago and got a 1941 C at auction with almost new tires. $550. Supposedly ran good, but I never heard it. On the other hand a friend of mine has a great running B with Woods L59 mower and nice tires. I forget what he's asking, but it's a decent price. Paint is rough, but that's it.

Well sod I'm in northern Mn and have a B non runner I'll sell for $100. Tractor is complete good rear rims and tires and chains. Poor everything else but it's all there. Mark
