A v8 pic in a b W/gov setup. There is a 3/4" plate to mount engine to torque tube. A spacer between crank and stock b flywheel. The b flywheel is drilled to chevy bolt pattern. It uses the stock b clutch and pressure plate. I had to redo the radiator w/bigger inlet on top and move the lower hose fitting to the opposite side and enlarge.

Yes way to many projects. I want to get rid of some toys and projects. I can't list everything on this post. This post is for V8 b info. I might start on in the shop section.

He DIDN'T, and no it won't just bolt up. The way to do it, is just like described for the small block. Make an adapter plat that will let you marry the 226 to the 14 bellhousing. Measure how far back you need to move the flywheel so the starter and everything else will still work. Alter the 14 flywheel to bolt to the 226 and space it back into the original position in the 14 bell housing. Then go play ![]() |

MR. Charlie Tucker,,,,Thank you,,,thank you,,,thank you,,,!!!! While I DO have a 149 coming,, I have no clue what it is going to take to put a spark in it. So, I am goin to pick up the 226 and check it out as well and see which is the easiest repair. The 226 was in a demo combine and is very low hours and was pulled and been in storage since. The owner says it not stuck as he would roll it 2-3 times a year,,so it might be a keeper,,!! I'm sure glad you chimed in bout the spacer to locate the flywheel,,,cause I had always been leaning to putting the 226 in that D14,,,and now I;m getting excited all over again,,,,,!!!! ![]() ![]() |
