    Posted: 03 Feb 2012 at 8:50am

Having a 190 XT delievered today....

Here is what I know....

Its a 1968 190 XT diesel, the serial number starts as 208XX Making it a series II.

I believe later decals were added on the sides (See the series III decals on hood).

The tranny does jump gears. I was also told that the engine does run, but just before I bought it, the engine went down to an idle only....Could this be the fuel pump going out? Engine oil looks clean, no water/grey color.

Tires are decent, around 70%, smaller fronts were added looks like. Also, the fuel tank looks like it was removed and repainted.

Tach says 1500 hours, I cannot be certain thats right, but thats what it says.

Notice the flat top fenders (Were they only on series II?)

Also, am I right in saying that series II were the fewest produced? Around 3,000??

I will have more questions, And will take better pics than these cell phone pics tonight.

And, what is it worth now? And if I get the fuel pump straightened out what is it worth?

Thanks!! Don

going down to an idle is an indication the fuel injection pump needs serviced.

Looks like the Tach was replaced, otherwise I think it would have the same rust/water issues as the others.

Just my opinion , but i think these tractors - series 2 - shift better than the series 3 machines in the transmission ; on the series 3 and 200 tractors on the ones i,ve run they never seem to shift very smooth, always binding

38" rubber on the rear and weights, that makes it worth more.

Acutually, the tires are 18.4 x 34" and there is only one rear weight, on the landside wheel. My guess was for plowing.
