Until they can make it run on solar it won't be practical. They don't make solar panels that are efficient enough. They could run it on coal, create steam, use the steam to generate electricity. :)

Anyone know if the fuel cell tractor in the museum will actually run today or for display only? A number of years ago when the GOTO was in Hutchinson we saw the fuel cell at the museum.

The fuel cell first came about in 1838. If I remember right the feds asked Allis Chalmers to to work on it and farther develop it, that is when A.C. came up with the propane run fuel cell tractor.
