And now introducing the john deer prius tractor.  Based on the faulty premise of AGW, brought to you by purveyors of unrepairable technology, everywhere.  No smog, just smug...Wink

Well, I don't think Allis is going to be building it.

True, but not like there was a market for it 60 years ago.  Like there might be now, forced by the gov as the case may be.

The one fuel cell tractor that AC built still exists in the county museum at Hutchinson, MN

I think the answer is obvious.

Really, really long extension cords.

Until they can make it run on solar it won't be practical. They don't make solar panels that are efficient enough. They could run it on coal, create steam, use the steam to generate electricity. :)

Anyone know if the fuel cell tractor in the museum will actually run today or for display only? A number of years ago when the GOTO was in Hutchinson we saw the fuel cell at the museum.

The fuel cell first came about in 1838. If I remember right the feds asked Allis Chalmers to to work on it and farther develop it, that is when A.C. came up with the propane run fuel cell tractor.
I first saw it in the winter of 1959 or 60 at MSU Farmers Week, it was on display, and there was videos showing showing it working.
