My h3 1963 lost reverse today. Feels like the linkage inside became disconnected. Still moves forward but need to stop with the foot clutch. Is there a way to check out the linkage without splitting the torque housing? Got a look inside the panel where the oil cooler is connected. Looks like the connecting links always stay in forward even when the control lever is pulled back. Do you think I may have broken plates in the clutch hanging it up?? I'm new to this

Probably what happened is , the fork on your foward and reverser broke right were the hand lever pulls the clutch packs back and forth. If you have any more questions about it, just email me back at Mwalter7647@gmail.com. hopefully this helps you.

No luck on a easy fix. Found the shuttle clutch collar and shifter worn out. Split the crawler and ordered new parts. After about fifty hours of back yard labor it's back running.
