Hello guys, just wanted to share the 200 narrow front project I have been working on. It has been quite a task! Way more to take into consideration before I started! HAHA. To share a little bit about the project. I started with a factory open station late model 1974 200. I have collected the parts to make this work. The "zipper" front is out of a series 3 190xt. I interchanged the front bolster to make this happen the front pulley on and water pump needed to be changed to be as a 190xt. Simply because of the clearance and different radiator placement from a 200 to 190xt. Next the air filter housing and oil fill tube for the front needs to be relocated to work with each other. And the tricky part is getting the radiator to fit between everything! ha-ha. With the factory narrow front the oil pan gets in the way so the largest size tires that I could have on the front were 9.5l-14 tires. it sat very low in the front this way. So since the 200 sits roughly 2.5 inches higher in the front than a 190xt to begin with I made a space plate to go in between to accomplish the proper 200 front end height along with getting a little more clearance. The next issue I ran into was using an 11L-15 tire and not hitting the oil pan or a front weight so. To accomplish this I used a D19 narrow front bolster. They are the exact same height and width as the 190xt but in relation to the 190xt narrow front the axle on the pedestal sits roughly 1.25 inches further forward. With the modification of my 2 inch spacer I made this possible. Once this was done the rest of the tractor was just a standard restoration process! I did put custom steps and all LED lighting on the tractor since nothing is proper on the tractor any more already! All new gauges including installing an oil pressure gauge. I am getting a little long winded! Just wanted to share!

If I didn't already know that 200's were never narrow front, I would not know the difference by looking at that! It looks like it came from factory that way. Very good job, it looks great!!!

Andy, That is one GREAT LOOKING TRACTOR!
Have to say I still like the narrow front ends. I know they are not in the rage now but they look good. Andy, Did I see you on Mecum's Classic Tractor Auctions. Your tractors looked great. Good Luck! Bill Long |

Even the correct police would have to be impressed with that undertaking and making it look as original as possible. The rest of the tractor has great attention to detail as well!

Andrew, you are setting the bar very high. On here a while ago was a 6080nf and now your 200nf. That is some of the best work I have ever seen. Sounds like you had a lot of engineering to do to make it all come together. Congratulations on a job well done. High marks, top shelf, & A#1.

WOW!! Thank you all for the response! It was a fun project to undertake that is for sure. One of a kind. It is amazing the things that were changed from the 190xt and the 200. Things that you just simply over look! I like the idea of the 220xt!!!! somehow it needs to have a power director installed! As for the mecum auction yes I was on there last November. We sold some of our ac Wheatland's. As for the 200 you will get to see it sell on mecums at the end of the month actually. I consigned it before I actually finished it and now I am really torn! I did at least place a reserve so I am comfortable with it. It is my own personal fund raiser for my wife and I as we have a little one on the way! We are very very excited! Thanks again all!
