In thinking about my future 262-WD45 project, I was wondering if they ever made extended picker shields for the longer hood on the 45D? maybe first I should ask, was there a mounted picker that fit the 45D? I would like to have side shields for this project if I ever got around to it, maybe I'll have to make my own.

A year or two back, I saw a 45 diesel with a mounted picker at Sumerix Equipment in Lachine, MI. I can't remember if it had shields on it, but you could call them and ask Ivan. He posts on here as auctioneer.

Yep. they did make the model 33 picker, adaptable to the WD45D.
Side shields were extended by a hole mesh screen on both sides.

mounting the picker itself shouldn't matter as the frame is the same?  If you could find a picture in a manual you could make one.  It would get a lot of attention at a show!
Thanks

would be expensive, but the best result would probably be had by buying two sets of shields and cutting them unevenly so I have 4 longer halves and welding the longer halves together, similar to extending a hood

Bill, if you want, I could take pictures from my picker manual. If that helps.

Did they make picker shields for the D17 diesel? If so, does anybody have any pics?
Thanks, Bryan

The WD45D, note the difference between the LH and RH side shields...

This is a comparison between the standard and the diesel (bottom shields) versions..
