Hello, 1961 D15, I really need help identifying the partial round ring in the pic. I removed the side cover and found this inside the torque tube. I've looked at the shop repair manual, looked online for a description and see nothing about this ring/spacer/shim? What is it, where does it go, and how do I get a replacement? I need to know more about this before I split the tractor. I have a replacement brass collar and PD shifter fork.

You're going to have to split it anyway. Is it round wire??? or flat like a snap ring?? I cannot think of anything in that area that is bigger diameter than the shifter for the brass collar.

Hello, neither a wire nor snap ring. It's flat like a shim or a spacer. I can see by the blue RTV that someone has had this split for whatever reason. Have you seen anything like this in the PD clutch itself?

Looks like a case of "someone who didn't know what they were doing " worked on it.

I think once this Power Director clutch is out on a work bench, it needs a complete disassembly and the eyes of an experienced person to look at it. I have a feeling the shim stacks are waaaay off and who knows what else is wrong with it. I'll bet the ramp plates pockets are on the verge of jump out when at full throttle too.
