7020's were all black frames. If their PS's are as good as the 7045's and 7060's, they are great. Straight 7000's, 7060's, and 7080's could be had in red or black frame. If it helps, 7030's, 7040's, and 7050's were only in red, and 7010's, 7020's, and 7045's came only in black. The PS trans were only offered as an option in the 7000's, 7010's, 7020's, 7040's, 7045's, and 7060's.
With all that said, I did see a 7045 on tractor house with a white painted cab interior. It was not a respray as the foot pedal and under the dash parts were all in white. It was a ran when parked, real fixer upper, mechanics special of a tractor and the side shields were off of it. Edited by Unit3 - 26 Mar 2020 at 12:43am |

I can recommend the door kit. I have one on the 7045 and one to put one the 7080. You don't need one at all,,, until, you open the door to get in or out and then the wind comes up and the door hits you in the back. Then you need one.

Youngorane2000, The 7010,7020,&8010s all ustilized the 301 6cylinder Diesel engine. The exception is that the 7020’s was turbocharged & intercooled. The 7010&8010 were only turbocharged. All 3 had good transmission options either 20 speed PD or 12 speed PS. If previous 7020 owners didn’t over fuel it’s engine & overload it, then there’s a good chance it should be as reliable as the the somewhat lesser hp 7010&8010.
If it’s higher hp is more than your discbine requires, then that may be ok? The 301 is fuel efficient and you’d have extra hp for other future possibilities. Have you view it? Started & driven it yet? Edited by AC7060IL - 27 Mar 2020 at 2:28am |

i cut lots of hay with mine; they were ez on fuel when not heavily loaded. i had both the 20speed PD and the 12 speed PS. PD doesn't work well with a loader.

thanks for the info 7060. I am thinking it should handle the mower as it requires 90-100hp I am just worried about the powershift being expensive to fix if it had problems. I have a feeling a cheap powershift is too good to be true

IMO that power shift was the very best built in its day and on top of that, a 7020 wouldn't overload it. It just depends upon previous maintenance record.

Have heard rumors of rebuilding a Power Shift for these can be at least 5000 just in parts,, kind of discouraging

Update I bought the 7020 power shift. I bought it cheap enough if all I do is take the turbo for one of my 190xts its worth it. It runs good and the hydraulics work ( only tried 3 point and steering) how ever it would only move slightly in reverse and not at all in forward. The prior owner said the trans would work intermittently he has sence gotten a diffrent tractor to use and this one has just sat unused for 2 years. I had it running when I checked it out all fluids look clean. I will mess with it more when it drys out enough for me to get it home in a couple weeks

Yes my brother had a powershift rebuilt about 5 years ago and it was more than he paid for the tractor when all was said & done. He said something about a big nut that was re used and came loose whatever that means. Caused him a lot of headaches and cost him a lot of money and downtime. Not trying to scare you youngorange.

Ive used my 7010 PS on a 1431 NH. Heavy hay you dont want to get into 6th if youre going uphill.

You need to check the trans filter on the back of the tractor. If it is clogged pretty bad it won't let the trans have enough fluid pressure.
