The 3pt adjusting crank of my D-15 II frequently scratches the fender in the raised position. Does any one else have this problem? What do you do about it?

I have never been so lucky as to have a AC with 3pt. But the 3pt I have used are froze up and don't adjust or they move with vibration. So I have used electric tape, bale wire,or bale twine and tied the handle to not move. But of course for nice restoration you need the spring bail(or what ever the proper term) keeper to hold the crank in place.
