A fellow I knew and was a collector said he used a car dolly. Put the steer wheels on the dolly and pulled it backwards. He had no trouble doing 50 mph with any of them except the E. For some reason it would sway at that speed. Good luck.

We towed a K home that way once. Just put back wheels on the car dolly, put the transmission in neutral and went on down the road with it. |

Maybe just pulling forward is when the axle snaps? I still don't really understand how that works.

Model A has a Truck axle so no way to disconnect driveline...make sure trans is full of lube and don't go 50mph.I'd think 30 would be plenty.

You could always pull the axels on the A. Will need to make caps to keep oil in. Should not hurt to toe it. MACK

any splash lube gear oil lubed transmission Gleaner can be towed short distances without unhooking anything.
The L, M, and N series with pressure lubed transmissions will lock up and ruin the transmission. On anything with a final drive, its a good idea to disconnect the drive lines. On older ones with a unitized axle, like the A, I would not worry much, just tow it. :) |

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |
