I have had a rebuilt generator on my WD for 3 years and still haven't gotten it to charge. Took it off today and disassembled and found out it's a 3 brush, Delco 1101413. I had a voltage regulator hooked to it as if it was a 2 brush which I thought it was. Did I damage anything doing this? I know there's a conversion kit for the regulator, what's the purpose of this and how do I hook it up? I got rid of my 3 position light switch and put a regular push-pull in, do I really still need to use the old 3 position switch for the kit? Seems like there's a better way; I'm planning on doing 12v conversion but not yet.
