Picked up a new project today. Not sure if the picture will work or not? Anybody know how many pads make up a full track? I'm guessing some are missing.

Awesome find! I am guessing they also had skis on the front too. I think I saw a picture of one of these in my Allis Chalmers Book.

There were 291 of these built in 1944 for the military. The motor, tranny and rearend are from a WWII jeep so that the military had parts on hand for them. The grill is a B grill widened about 10". It's chain drive from the rearend to the track drive sprocket. These skis are steel but the originals were wood. Has individual rear brakes with both hand and foot throttle. This one was used by a power company for years and then possibly a hunting rig since it has gun racks inside right now. Not sure at what point the cab was built for it and I have to decide whether to keep that or remove it. |
