My WD started acting up.  It keeps running after I shut it off.  It doesn't do it every time.  I replaced the switch but it is still doing it.

Alternator back feeding to the ignition would be my guess but I have no idea how you've wired it.

Your wireing should look something like this.. The KEY shuts off power to the ignition coil... There is a resistor or diode in the signal wire to #1 terminal on the alternator.. That keeps the ALTERNATOR from feeding power to the COIL when you turn the key off... .... Do you have a resistor or diode ?  Somehow #1 terminal is connected directly to the coil... ............ Pull the two prong plug off the alternator, then start tractor, shut it off and see that it will DIE.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

It starts and runs perfectly then it will shut off just fine 3 or 4 times and then the next time it will keep running.  When it keeps running it runs smoothly as if you never shut it off.

Does it have really good compression?
Could be possible it’s running like a diesel, on compression....
Just a thought, could be way off though....

Thank you to all of you for your help, I really appreciate it, and this forum.  I found a short in a wire that I had missed.  Seems to have fixed the problem.  Thanks again.
