We have a 200 diesel stored in a shed. How often should it be started
in the off season between tillage and harvest?

I start every engine once every month and let them run for 30 minutes.
Letting them run for at least thirty minutes helps to drive moisture out of the engine. |

Don't let it idle for only a couple of minutes and throttle it up to half or more for the rest of the time.

I have livestock, so my tractors don't set very long. Though over the winter, the big-boy Allis does end up sitting for a few months. I probably should start it periodically.....but don't.
When I had an extra car, I made sure to start it every 4-6 weeks. I'd think that would be plenty. |
