On Jan 29, 2019 I posted that I had tinwork up for grabs in the classified section of this forum. I had several inquiries for some parts of the tinwork through the private messenger feature of this form. Dawntreader74 was the first to pm about the items, and made an offer of $45 plus actual shipping costs. He requested the items be shipped using SpeeDee Delivery, so I arranged the shipping. The total shipping cost was $32. Dawntreader74 promptly answered phone calls throughout the shipping process and confirmed that he received the tinwork, and stated he would send a check to my return address on the shipping label. Since Feb 4th, the date the items arrived, I have sent3 pm's, all of which Dawntreader74 opened within 8 hours, but he never sent 1 reply. I have also called several times, left 2 voicemails, had 1 call answered and instantly hung up on by Dawntreader74. Dawntreader74 has proven the ability in the past to answer phone calls and private messages. I am unaware of any medical condition which would allow him to open a pm but prevent him from responding. Had I gotten a response that "I sent cash in the mail and the post office lost it" I would be satisfied. However, that is not the case, as he lacked that level of creativity. I may be out $77 that he never paid but I can sleep at night knowing that I have never been a lowlife that screwed somebody through the internet. Some may think it is in bad taste that I make this post, and the moderators may even remove it. I have had many wonderful experiences with other forum members, but when I encounter a rotten egg, I feel it is prudent to warn others. I deal with a lot of forum members, and rely on the honor system, and have had great luck, everyone I deal with is excellent! This post is exactly why I feel comfortable doing that, if someone jipps me, I know I can let everyone know, so it feels like you have some backing. I've dealt with great people from one coast to the other, and have become friends with most of them, Except you IL Gleaner lmfao! Just kidding, John and I are good friends, that's why the ribbing. I hope he sends you payment soon! To be honest, the few times I have had customers jip me, have all been local! Sad huh! Good luck, and be sure to keep us updated!

I always ship before getting paid. I have to go to the post office to get the price of shipping so I ain't gonna make two trips! Although I don't do a lot of selling, I have never had a problem with any forum member, fortunately! Great bunch of folks, except maybe from Nebraska!! LMAO!! Thank You for the heads up, and the moderators should not remove your post, they should remove the guilty party from the forum.

As with any large group of people, most everyone is honest and forthright, how ever as always there are a few BAD apples. I have watched a few threads from Dawntrader and get the same impression of him as you have experienced.
I also have had a few bad experiences with a small group of others and have a NO SALE list.

Welcome to the world of Dawntreader74. He shafted my brother on a Gleaner F that he bought and let set for over a year without making any payment he also tried to waffle on an agreed upon price on a field cultivator and every forum member I talk to has a horror story about him. I sell on here and have never had a problem.

According to the status board, he was on here 13 hours and some minutes ago.
He must have seen this post and high-tailed it. I also have done business/trading/swapping all across this forum and had only come upon 1 person who wasn't the best to deal with. After I threatened to do this exact same thing he paid up. He quit on here about 4/5 years ago. If he had problems, like lost his job or something like that a guy could understand and and give a guy a little room, but apparently that didn't happen or he would have said something. I hate to see this kind of thing happen. It's bad for the whole forum..... sad |

just sad. I have dealt with several folks on the forum, both buying and selling, and they have all been great folks. just sad that not everybody is as honest as the rest.

I would guess if there was a problem he would reply to your messages. Have to be a real low life to stiff a man for $77.00. I hope the parts worked.

I sold a CA parts tractor to him about a year ago, but I believe everything went well, I did however collect upon delivery. Hope everything gets resolved here, hate to see tractor folk not working things out. Ive had a few things go awry when I was in the midst of a divorce, but i tried to fix everything i could. I hope he will do the same for you.

The only ones I ever send anything to, before I get the payment, are the ones I've dealt with for many years. All others send payment first, then I ship the parts. If you've done business with me for a good while I'll trust you at least one time. If I get screwed, you're done as far as I'm concerned. The one that really got me was a guy over on one of the Facebook forums that burnt a set of fingers off a clutch by adjusting them up against the throw out bearing. (Don't know what he was thinking!) I sent him another set of fingers and he was going to send me 30.00 for them (10.00 each), but needed them right away, so I sent them. I have never seen that 30.00 yet! The guy is an Admin. of that site. I just figured let the loser be, must need it more than I do...Rick

As with any business transaction: the customer pays for the part(s)/shipping first, then they get they're parts. Keeps everyone honest. There are a choosen few as Rick said that I don't worry about here. He's one of them! Its a shame a few like this guy Dawntreader that ruin it for other family members here. I look at us as a big family here where we all take care of one another when help is needed. And it doesn't mean having to buy somethin' either. Hopefully, he'll scrape up the dough to send to Josh and get square.... Steve@B&B

Well seeing how you'd like to set things straight and an admiralable thing for a good nephew to do why not give your Uncle a hand writing a check and mailing it out?

People get sick, that's just part of life. Another vote for "In God we trust, all else pay cash". That way if the buyer ends up incapacitated in some way and never sends a check, the seller ends up thinking he changed his mind rather than feeling ripped off.

sadly, he's sick, but has still been on here. Unable to answer phone? Being in business myself, and also being too trusting, I cannot stand deadbeat payers! I truly hope this is simply a case of being unable to get check out because of illness, not just trying to weasel out of payment. I've been stiffed a couple of times, but never anyone on any tractor forum I'm on, all been local! The original poster is very much in the right for putting this out there, it's now up to Mr Love (any one of them can do it) to make it right. Someone coming on here posting on his behalf cutting the op down for it is certainly no help, but actually shows the op may be right. If I had an illness and didn't get someone paid, and I saw this I'd be apologetic not defensive and even offensive.

I will pray for Bob's health and well being. No one on here wants to beat up somebody when they are down . If I was sick I would still make sure my debts are paid . If my uncle was too sick to pay I would take care of it for him . The original poster has every right to state his case if he has no information as to your uncles condition .

I don't even understand the post... is that English? Where I come from, the adjoining state, when a family member is down we help. A good family member would jump in and make it right. You defend your family in an honorable way. I believe the bully would be the nephew, just make contact and send the payment. Thanks for the warning and trying to protect your "family"!! We have to trust each other. I make payment and hope the guy sends the parts. Sometimes I get uneasy, but that's business! I wouldn't send a part without payment unless I'm willing to drive there to make it square

Kinda what I thought, he's complaining about being bullied, but in reality he is doing the bullying. I don't give 2 $h!ts how big or small someone is, they want to kick my ass they'd better wear bullet proof vest if they are in the wrong to start with. If I've got it coming, kick away!

I had a previous post regarding this combine. The whole truth is not being told. My brother sold him the combine in good faith and even loaded the corn head onto his trailer for him to pick up when he paid for it. After a year sitting and no payment forthcoming my brother called him and told him to pay him because he was tired of working around it. Then a stupid comment was made about my sister in law and that is when he told him to come and get his trailer because he was done with him. Stretching the story for sympathy and not coming clean on their end is not honorable business. If I buy something and cannot come and get it right away or in a reasonable time due to whatever reason I at the least will pay for it instead of leaving them hanging for a year. I have bought and sold many items on here and have never had a problem. I have met several forum members and made good friends with them. They can tell I am fair and honest. Like they say in the court room the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
