I have a 58 D17 with narrow front end..I found a Series 4 front end. I was going to buy it.but got too looking at my other D17 series 4,and seen the Yoke comes from the wide front end,and bolts to the Motor adapter plate with 4 bolts...and the D17 58 model, dont have the 4 bolt holes..will the front end work on the series 1 (1958) from the series 4?  can anybody tell me what I need to find? thanks in advance..Dead

Will NOT work as it is.....you'll have to fabricate something at the rear, and on those old D17's they only used 2 bolts instead of four.

That is what I thought..the only other thing would be change the motor adapter plate between the motor and transmission..that would give me the 4 bolts...well ,looks like too much work..Thank anyway...

Cleanest way to go is buy the engine adapter hsg off a series 4 and replace yours.
