    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 at 8:24pm
Been forever since I was here!

Went out today and gas was trick'lin outta my carb!!
I need a re-build kit, and it's my thought there were a couple different carbs on these tractors. without tearin the damn thing off, can someone tell me which (what) carb I'm spose to have??? I'd take a pic of it, but it looks kinda like a ball of grease!!!!

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply Doc!
Been pokin' around, found Marvel Schebler rebuild kits, the all refer to a "TSX" #, how do I figure out which one I have? Is it stamped on the carb? Dum questions, but need to get up and going, and don't want to waste time with the wrong kit!!!

As Dave said, riveted at the throat of the Carburetor for large bore. On the side of the float bowl on a small bore. About the size of a dime.  A TSX 869 is a large bore Marvel that would come on like a D17. I don't think D15's had a large bore Marvel on em'. I think it should be a small bore version. Maybe like a TSX 486, or a 670. Somethin' like that.  We have Carb kits in stock if ya need help or if yer' interested...

D-15 series 2 carb is essentially the same as a D-17 except for the throttle shaft. My notes say TSX 869 or TSX 863.

On my series 1 D 15 the carb tag is on the back of the carb right above the breather hose facing the seat . Mine's TSX-815 by the way , which Steve rebuilt for me . HTH

Could be the float is not floating so well, that could be due to a hole in the float or
the float has been crushed, and has lost displacement. Usually crush is caused by using
high pressure air into the fuel inlet in attempt to blow through a suspected piece of dirt.

On a historical note, the needle valve, seat and float was actually the unwritten 11th plague in the bible.

So, got the carb put back together, and she ran great! YAY ME! Shut'r down, and gas started pouring out of the choke rod hole...... Ok, float is bad/needs adjusted. Turned the gas off, problem solved for now. Ran her 3 more times, gas on, runs great, shut gas off. Tried running her a forth time, gas on, she won't start unless the choke is all the way on. Runs GREAT, throttle up, throttle down, just the choke HAS to be on........

Help?
