Got the mower on today.  I got this finishing mower in a previous deal.  Thought it would work well with the new B.  Got the lights on too.  I need to hit it with a timing light this weekend. I also need a fitting for the hose to pump.

Sweet! Looks really nice... Just don't forget to take the muffler sticker off before you start her up for a extended period of time, it might smell a bit funny. Smile

Steve, Chris, Ted, Ben,
Thank you all for the kind words.  Sometimes I reflect on the money and time spent into these and think I must be crazy.  However, it is a labor of love.
Till the next one--Steve in Gainesville.

Love to give that gentleman a ride (and pick his brain about AC).  MD is too far, unfortunately.

Steve, amazing job in such a short time! I've mulled over fixing everything completely right as I go, and reading this thread definitely motivated me.

One question: Those angle irons you used to support the tractor with the front end off- home-made? Excellent idea! I know my front end needs attention as well. It's on the to-do list.

Again, fantastic work!

Consultator,
Thank you for the kind words.  It went well doing a little at a time.  Seemed more manageable than having a thousand pieces all over.

Yes, the angle iron is homemade.  Just drill two holes for the torque tube.  Safest way I've found to work on these tractors.  I got the idea from someone else on here.

Steve - I've been following this thread and just re-read it from the start - great way to spend a CHILLY evening in Massachusetts!

A question: When bolting freshly painted parts together, how does one avoid tearing up that shiny new paint when tightening bolts? Seems as though the lock washers would make quite a mess.

Dave,
For me too!  Even if you let the paint cure--it will still get ugly when tightening them.  I guess that's why they painted these things AFTER assembly at the factory.  I cheat too--rattle can touch up!

Stay warm up there!

Thanks, Steve. I'm working on staying warm - it hit 25* today and was sunny......so I went out to work on a wiring project in the carport. THAT lasted about 30 minutes when the wind came up!

Here's a picture of the back of the tractor.  The mower works well on it.  I had to use an adapter on the PTO output shaft to match the mower.
