I have a 1950 allis chalmers B. When i bought it it did not have a pto or hydraulics. It had the differential cover with the pointy cone. So i went on ebay and bought a pto hydraulic assembly. but now it looks like i need a gear that goes on the end of existing shaft and retainer clip. Is this so? anyone do a swap maybe a couple of pictures anything be highly appreciated.

Yes you need the drive gear. They are on ebay frequently,

The gear was all the same.  We mounted them all the time and there was not a problem putting a newer 1 3/8" PTO on an older unit 1 1/8" PTO without changing out the gear that was on the unit.
Take good care of my favorite.
Good Luck!

1 3/8 spline is standard size, early tractors had 1 1/8 and you would have to add an adapter to fit a regular PTO shaft.
