I have a 1950 allis chalmers B. When i bought it it did not have a pto or hydraulics. It had the differential cover with the pointy cone. So i went on ebay and bought a pto hydraulic assembly. but now it looks like i need a gear that goes on the end of existing shaft and retainer clip. Is this so? anyone do a swap maybe a couple of pictures anything be highly appreciated.

Yes you need the drive gear. They are on ebay frequently, http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ALLIS-CHALMERS-C-TRACTOR-PTO-DRIVE-GEAR-SNAP-RING-1948-/300927289498?pt=BI_Heavy_Equipment_Parts&hash=item4610aa089a Or put a WTB in the classified section of this site.

The gear was all the same. We mounted them all the time and there was not a problem putting a newer 1 3/8" PTO on an older unit 1 1/8" PTO without changing out the gear that was on the unit. Take good care of my favorite. Good Luck! Bill Long

1 3/8 spline is standard size, early tractors had 1 1/8 and you would have to add an adapter to fit a regular PTO shaft.
