Sounds like improper installation to me. Like someone not oiling the o-ring on the top of the filter before you put it on, and not being able to tighten the filter on all the way on.   If you really think that Baldwin, Fleetguard, Cat, WIX, CARQUEST, NAPA filers are bad. Better go tell the thousands of farmers, truckers, loggers that they better put on OEM filters otherwise its going to wreck the engine!

Aftermarkets can be fine if they are the right type and micron. Many come out of the same building but if the microns are wrong you can mess up your engine. Fram used to be absolutely no good no matter if the microns were right or wrong but it's been years since I cut one up to see it's guts. 20 years ago they were glued together inside and every one we cut apart in mechanics school had come apart at the seam and they had far fewer pleats than an OEM filter, so no, not all filters are built the same. I don't care what claims ares made. I'd cut it apart first to prove that they are the equivalent. Glued seamed vs metal crimped seams, twice as many pleats means a whole lot more filter area. It all ads up sometimes to you get what you pay for.

All comes down to the micron rating. If the micron rating isn't the same you can have problems. Seen time and time again. Its like trying to breathe through a or sraw or a 1" hose. One is a lot easier then the other.

filters are built by other companies to the oem company's specs. Not all cross referenced filters are exactly the same.

Hey Dr.Allis the luberfiner filter LFP3191 that the agco filter crosses to, They list that to cross over to this 1r-0739 also.

How lucky for you then. By sheer dumb luck the numbers supposedly interchange. It's pretty clear that you did no prior research on this matter except finding something that fit the threaded base.

Actually no, I did cross fleetguard numbers. Then found a Cat filter that fit. So no dumb luck here.

Dadgum! That looks great! I can only imagine how complicated those engines are! I'll admit I thought engine rebuilding was easy after I completed my Ford 8N, but now that I think about it, it's a 4 cylinder flat head and it couldn't hold a candle to what you have done! Great job and keep the pics coming! And maybe post a video of the first start-up!

Thanks man!!!

Here's some more progress as of today. Had to get a different reman water pump. The other one had the hub pushed on to far and the pulley would rub. So got a different one and it fits good.

Here's the return line that's tee'd together.

Pump fittings and throttle.

Here's from underneath, see the throttle cable bracket I made.

Top view.

And the injector return line by the injectors. And no its not touching the valve cover.

Also I've had it running to set up the throttle. I pre-oiled the turbo and cranked it over until I had oil pressure then I fired it up. Didn't take many revolutions until its started. I will get a video when I get it ready to pull out of the shop.

CAT filters are made by Donaldson, but they are made to CAT specs. The dDonaldson branded filter is NOT the same as the CAT filter. CAT filters are made to much tighter specs.

The 1r0739 is the filter for the medium duty line.....3116 and 3126 use this filter. The high efficiency version is 1r1808 and that is made for the ACERT medium duty like the C7

Our D6D Cat dozer with the 3306 takes the 1r0739 also. 1r1808 is the almost the same filter, just a finer micron rating. The 0739 is the standard efficiency filter, 1808 is the Advanced efficiency, therealso is a ultra high efficiency filter also but I dont have that part number.

Yes I have had it in the field for a couple days now. Got it done yesterday. Almost forgot to show ya guys this though. If you have ever changed the fuel water separator filter, you'll know why this is awesome! lol

Then a few pics of the finished tractor.

Then a pic of her in her work clothes.

Can see the dual on her that we got this spring. Special bands on the duals to work on the step rims.

Under a good load, she will pump a good 25 pounds of boost. Also turns the air filter light on. But it did that before with the stock turbo. The air filter is clean also. I've been looking for a 8070 air cleaner to put on it. Hopefully I can find one reasonably priced. But all in all I really like the pump and turbo upgrade. Seems so much more responsive than before. I want to get the rings seated and then take it to the local dealer for a dyno test.

Has the front axle been moved forward on this rig? Also, what have you changed on the weight rack to move it forward? Looks good and I bet the performance is impressive.

Yes I have moved the axle forward on all three of our 8000's. Just moved the rear holes in the axle mount to where the front were, and then drilled the four new holes. I made a bracket that bolts on where the original weight bracket did and moved it about a foot if I remember right. 1" steel front, back and sides with 2 pieces of 3/4" placed on thirds inside the bracket. Pretty easy to make. Plus it seconds as a bumper. Not that use it as one anyway. Just protection for the grill. I can snap a couple pics later today when I go disc.   This tractor also has 16.9r28 on the front and 20.8r42's on the rear.

I don't think your head gasket is going to like 25 lbs of boost for very long if you are pulling it steady that way, also what do you have for a radiator?

No im not keeping it at 25 pounds all the time Anyway. It has a newer radiator in it. 5 row 3/4" core with 8 fins per inch. Same as our 8070's. Makes alot of difference.

Here's some pics of the front weight bracket spacer.

Then we cut the rear pivot for the 2wd axle. I just cut the front one off when I put the engine in. Much easier to slide the front axle under.

No the pump on the 185 is off a uni power unit 426 engine. Got it cheap so I used it. The Deere A-pump is on our 220. Works great but I wish it didn't have the timing retard notches in the plungers in the pump. And no, haven't had any problems with the 185. It has a 649 engine in it from the factory, so its the latest and greatest 301.
