I don't think I have any choice but to carefully cut these off. I don't believe these are real furrow eradicators anyway. Look nothing like the ones in the parts book.

Blake,
That front gang is new and ready to go! Great job bringing this set of discs back into working order. That weld on the rear looks pretty good. Not all goobered up like some things we have seen.

Found some good used ones from L&L Parts in Minnesota and some NOS ones from Sandy Lake Implement in Pennsylvania.

Blake,
Nice shot of the 79 Ford also! I still want something like that for some reason? Sandy Lake is a good place.
The disc is coming together. Are you going to paint it too?

Here's what I have for ridge reducers on my Snap-Couler #109 disc.  I've got them on both sides on the rear gang.  They are bolted on and appear to be OEM.  It was like this when I bought it.

Right side...

Brian those are correct by the parts book. Mine are not except for the parts to the scrapers. Somebody welded these on. I'm cutting them off tommorrow if weather is good.

Naw, it was a DISASTER. LOL LOL

It's coming along just fine and other than the pics being too big, this thread is great.  I wish I had a 200 series instead of the 100 that I do have.  The front end lifts off the ground when I raise the disk.

Well I got the makeshift eradicators cut off today. What a pain in the butt. Looks a lot better. Very wet out today but I decided to make a few passes in a grassy area. Looks like the new 18" notched blades on the front will cut just fine. They are 1 3/4 concavity. Little more than original but after walking back and looking through the ground the brush and grass was chopped very well. Now on to rebuilding the back gangs...

Just curious, but what size tires do you have on that disc?

I've got a SC pull-type disc also, but it's in need of major repairs.  Figured I'd get it on its' feet first so I can move it around.  It belonged to my father-in-law but I saved it from the scrappers. I believe its a #215 disc with wings.  But I'm sure the wheels and tires would be the same as yours.

The tires are 215/75/14 and seem to have worked out just right. To tighten the gangs I used a large pipe wrench on the end backing plate to hold it still. After I snugged it up some everything quit spinning and it tightened up. I tightened the nut with a 1 1/2 wrench. I ordered some more NOS parts today for the hose support. I'll post pics when I get them in.

Blake,
That disc is going to work the 45! The results of your efforts are looking very good to bring this back!

 Chris

Okay, I'll bite.
What is the purpose of part #70328466?  Does it fit into the end of the spring for some reason?

All the bearing assemblies for the rear gangs are back together now. Now just a few parts left to find and it will be a 100% complete disc and I'm never doing this again.... lol. I have all the bearing proctectors but I want them to all be in the condition like these 4 I have. The rest are very worn.

Blake,
I believe I understand about not wanting to do that again!:) I have taken on a few of those types of projects also! My guess is that when your discing with this, it will be pure joy for you! Now your getting close to when you might clean and paint it? Is that on the list too!
Nice job getting all the parts freshened and ready to assemble!

 Chris

Yep, I'll get it ready for a paint job this spring sometime when the weather turns nice. I'll take some better pics of what decals are left and see if I can find some or have them made. I just ordered an old disc brochure last night maybe it will have some good pics of decals in it. I am for sure ready to use it later on this year. Tractor probably won't get a good paint job this year but I am going to go ahead and paint the hood and fenders so they aren't primer grey anymore lol.

Do you have a part number /source for the blades you’re using?

The blades came from Agri Supply. The fronts are notched 18" #80330. I'm going to order the rears from there as well. Smooth 18" #25740. Both are 1 3/4 concavity.

Good deal to have parts since the bearings are not available. Did the summer shade protect the tires so they hold air,Wink as good as they look in the picture. I know just because the part showing is looking good means nothing on tires.
