A while back I believe a member was talking about doing this swap. I was wondering how it went and how much custom work was involved. We have a d19 that was a diesel now a 262 gas and the engine is about done. So since I can't find/ afford a d262 I am weighing out all my options. Thought about the 301 swap but I think a 433 would be an easy fit.

There are 3 ways to do job GOOD, FAST, CHEAP. YOU MAY CHOOSE 2. If its FAST & CHEAP it won't be GOOD, if it's GOOD & CHEAP it won't be FAST, and if its GOOD & FAST it won't be CHEAP!!!!

I think the 433 would be a good fit. They are close to the same length and the rear end should hold up.

I was looking at an f2 and it really looks like it would be a much easier swap than the 301

The 4 banger might have enough room for a crankshaft driven hydraulic pump ?? Don't believe the F-2 engine has a hydraulic pump drive provision on it.

My D19 with a gas engine has a factory front hydraulic pump ordered to be a loader tractor.

Front cover and plate would work if s/n range is correct. 6060-6070-6080 has the engine hyd pump drive on them. My front pump thoughts were between the crank pulley and radiator I think a pump could be made to fit in that open space due to the 4 cylinder design.

I would agree. It would be a lot more practical than trying to mate a 6060-80 hyd pump to a D19 hyd system.

Interesting swap. A 100hp 433I would give the D19 a real pep.

I'd run it at no more than 80 PTO HP to save the transmission.

It would be interesting to see if any of these following prior forum posts (links that discuss D19 engine swaps) did evolve. If they evolve, then how'd they performed? And, would those who did the swap recommended it again?

Pleas correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the d19 hyd pump internal to the rear end? I know the ps pump is engine mounted but don't the hydraulics stop when the clutch is in?
Did the 433 go into and industrial equipment? I found a good ac industrial/heavy equip salvage yard |

The 433 was used in the HD-4 crawler but was an early version and was called the 2200
non turbo. Turbo version was used in the 715C TLB and some forklifts.

The factory D19 front pump mounts in front of the radiator. Not a lot of room. It tee's into the belly mounted pump.
