Has anyone put an air conditioner on an A/C 190?  I'm looking at a 190XT with a cab, but it doesn't have an air conditioner.Any guidance or experience regarding adding an a/c would be appreciated.

I was gonna put a cab on my 220 and fix it like you want to.....bought an 8070 instead and kept the 220 for backup. Something to consider.

I think I've heard of guys using a kit from Red Dot? Classic Auto Air has universal systems, one being big enough for a full size van. I would think that would cool a tractor cab on the hottest days. I would buy the largest capacity system I could find and do like Mack says and fix any drafts. Steele Rubber Products makes universal weatherstripping for doors and windows. Something else to consider is insulation. Lizard Skin is a spray on insulation and they also have a sound control coating as well.

We put Red Dot ACs on 10 box vans it would cool down a Chevy van with a 12' box so I'm sure it'll cool down a little tractor cab even with air leaks and no insulation. Having 10 trucks done I got them down to $2500 per truck so it ain't cheep.

I have a stolper cab on my 190xt and I investigated this a bit. There is a picture on this forum that I found shows a guy that did this. I tried to find out details but got no response. You have a spare pulley to use to power the compressor with a belt but you have to make a bracket to hold the compressor. I believe it has to hang out the side and he had to cut the shield to make room for the belt. The other issue that I have heard mentioned is getting an AC unit that will cool it down. I was going to use a vintage car version but was not convinced even with some insulation it would cool it down. The cost to do the AC was going to be nearly as much as I paid for the tractor. I believe those RedDots are good as mentioned above and the best solution. I ended up buying a 7010 with working AC. My 190XT has a clutch issue as well, so I have bigger problems. If you solve it, be sure and post back.

Interestingly enuff, the first 190's drove the compressor off the belt drive pulley - just have to keep the foot off the clutch :-)

My uncle put an automotive under dash unit in his Gleaner. I had planed to do the same in a 190XT but ended up buying a 200 with air. I planned on using a 200 compressor mount.

Air conditioning in the car makes driving more comfortable. Too low or too high a temperature does not give pleasure to travel. I hate driving when I can be boiled alive in my own car. I tried to install an air conditioner in the service, but my local specialists refused to do this work, without even explaining the reason. I have a friend who advised me to contact an air conditioning service company. And it really helped, very polite and accessible company https://www.airconservicingsingapore.com/ explained how to solve my problem. Try to consult with specialists regarding your problem, and it is absolutely free.
