917 Turbo Ran but won't start now

   My new to me 917 Turbo ran when purchased, but now after putting in an old battery I have around it won't do anything at all ! It won't click or anything even with battery charger hooked up. Any ideas on what the reason might be? I have all levers in the neutral or off position.
