Tractor won’t go in park. We pulled floor pan and tried to lube up cable and work it back and forth. I think I need to replace it does anyone know the Agco number for the cable or recommend aftermarket resource?

Make sure the small cable is moving shifter far enough. MACK

I just got a 7040 with the same problem. I put new cables in as suggested. It shifts much easier but still wouldn't go into park. The short cable I could not shorten enough to pull into park.
Look at the area I circled. The curved link is moved when you put shift lever in the park gate. That curve area was extremely worn so I took it out and built it up with a few passes with the welder. Goes into park much easier now. |

An area that needs some spray lube shoved down in there a couple of times per year.

Good idea. Chain/cable lubes?

Anything is better than nothing. Chain lube probably stays longer.
