I have a 190xt that I bought non running and did a in frame rebuild with a reman head and injectors and new turbo all with maybe 15-20 hours of run time if that I then had the hydraulic pump lock up and take out the camshaft. The tractor is otherwise pretty straight however the old tack had 6991 hours on it and the tires are about shot. My problem is I as of now am $7,000 into the tractor that is going to need tires and the damage form the broke cam fixed. And the 190 wouldn't fit my needs anymore anyway especially with only 540 non live pto. I am at a point where I don't want to waste more time I have tried selling it for the past 2 weeks and now I'm up to about the 11-12th guy to back out or just waste my time trying to play 20 questions. I'm to the point where I think I am going to take the turbo off maybe the fenders and haul the thing in. I just don't know what to do anymore

I would not scrap.. There is on occasion someone looking for transmission / rear end units.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I have been in your position on equipment before unfortunately. If you don’t have a need for it, cut your losses and let it go or part it out if you have the time to deal with individual items.

YoungOrange2000, sorry your 190 experienced such a bad deal. It is a Lesson to all of us 190 owners to install a hydraulic fluid screen/magnet in the transmission fluid sump where transmission gear filings/teeth can possibly get sucked into front engine driven hydraulic pump, lock up pump, & break the engine’s cam shaft.

Maybe repair AC 2900’s cam shaft, hydraulic pump, & check rest of valve train items for any possibly bent push rods, rockers, valve stems???

Later, maybe your good AC 2900 could be swapped into a newer 7000,7010,7020,8010 and offer you a better tractor? 7010,7020,8010 have hydraulic pump mounted in front of transmission, not on engine’s front plate.

Part out the rest of the 190 & list parts on here - grill, sheet metal, fuel tank, rear power shift rims, transmission, differential, finals, 3pt hitch, drawbar, tires, etc...

Best part is I had a 3 point from another tractor and bull gears pinion breaks rear housing from a different 190 that crapped out on me that I tryed selling all winter not a single person was interested. I am not parting out another tractor as I still have a bunch leftover from the last one and was sick of 4 out of 5 people no showing or ghosting me. The best is when they said they would pay x for a part and arrange a time to come get it then I would spend almost two hours getting the things off and then they wouldn't show or reply back so as far as I care they can shove it 🖕🖕

sorry you learned the hard way, get 10-50% of the cash up front BEFORE you turn wrenches...yeah, it took me awhile to figure THAT out....
Also,when the parts out, they got ,say 1 week, to come and get it...afte that, you can keep their cash and sell to the next guy
Also helps to have 2 ways to contact. Guy next door sold a PU box,called guy(had $300 already) , NO answers over 3-4 months. we figure the dude died, no one in family knew about the deal,so come month #6 , resold the box.

A guy I know was in a similar situation (recent overhaul and recent rear end rebuild) and ended up selling the tractor to my brother for $1500 which is what Worthington offered. My brother stuck another $3000 plus into replacing the cam and gears and a new hydraulic pump done by an independent shop. Good tractor now.

Somewhere between the rear end overhaul and engine rebuild someone was careless and left a piece of metal between the sump screen and hydraulic pump.

Anyone ever stick a big magnet in the hydraulic reservor to catch any shavings or casting pieces as they are produced?

A couple of cow magnets, yes. That compartment can be cleaned to a degree without the tractor running. Is the suction screen even in the place it belongs??  The screen must be there and a couple of cow magnets can assist but the metal making problem has to be remedied first.

hmm, magnets, reminds me of the  cheapsters JD, whotold Tufftork to NOT install the normal 5 magnets in the hydro units,along withnonrecomended oil. All units failed....
I'm wondering if you can put magnets on the drainplug and the dipstick ? I've seen 'donut' shaped magnets that might fit the dipstick,and someone used to sell drainplugs with magnets

The differential on my 190XT had a magnetic drain plug. Probably a good idea for the hydraulics also. I have seen magnets glued in a number of transmissions and rear ends of older cars and trucks.
When I got my 190 it did not have a sump screen which is not uncommon.
