Just curious what members around here would buy if they had to buy a tractor other than an AC?
I'm pretty much a total Deere hater; however, I do respect machines and owners that have put a lot of time into restoring one. They are part of our Ag history.
I love the looks of a White. But where I live you hardly ever see one.
As far as something to use I'd lean toward an IH.

Not to be boo'ed to badly, but Case IH is the more common brand used besides Deere here. I could do red before green.

Guess if I were looking for a new one, it would be Kubota, but then they are hardly up for the larger tractors. Good small to mid-range though.

IH 1066 are good tractors but as far as collector tractors id pick oliver, they had some good products up until the end, and for big farm tractors you can never go wrong with a ford, especially the tw series.

I always liked the looks of Minneapolis-Molines. Never used one though, it might change my mind about liking them! Would be fun if I found one, but I'm way to busy with all of my other projects.

From what I hear with the MM it is a love or hate relationship. I've read a lot of people complaining about their later stuff before they sold out.

My main concern would be service and reliability. I have used neighbors JD's in the past and they are conveniently designed. I guess it would depend on the task the tractor was going to be used for but probably JD, Kubota, or Case III.

It would kinda depend on what i was looking for. In the 90-120hp range it would probably be a White 2-110 or a 120. 160 or bigger would probably be a Case 94 series or the Magnum series. I would like to have a 1950 Oliver with the over-under someday tho.

It would have to be a JD 720 diesel with narrow front end. Dad had one before he quit farming so I guess I would have to get that model if I ever bought anything besides orange.

For a small utility tractor I would look hard at a new Deutz Fahr if we even had the budget. In older tractors I'm an Oliver fan, I really like the 1850, I also have a soft spot for the IH 1066.

Neighbor has MF that I have used and enjoyed driving. I am seriously considering a 65 with a loader. My size tractor and they have two way hydraulics.

To replace my 7050 maybe a Ford 9700 although it's short on HP but it's the biggest they built for the time. I do like the newer TW series. IH had too many problems for me and Deeres are fuel hogs and just plain ugly. Oliver probably for the older stuff. I do own a Massey 30 and it's alright but not like a WD.

OLDER TRACTORS -MY BETTER HALF GREW UP ON FARMALLS. WE HAVE AN M AND A F-20 AND MAYBE WILL ADD A H. THEY GET THE JOB DONE JUST NOT AS WELL AS OUR ALLIS'S.
WE ARE RETIRED FROM FARMING BUT IF WE WERE TO START AGAIN NEWER EQUIPMENT WOULD PROBABLY BE DEERE. NOT BECAUSE I LIKE THEM BUT WE HAVE DEALERS VERY CLOSE OFFERING GOOD SERVICE.

Scooterbuck: We had a 2255 Oliver that my dad sold a couple years ago. Had a Hiniker cab on it. The cab made it a pain in the poor word choice to get into and out of. It had MFWD and a 3208 Cat motor. Nice tractor.

What ever I can get for the best price. I love Allis but if a good JD 4020 came along for the right price I am all over it. And since I do not own one that tells the story.
