PD or PS? Lots of opinions there. The search engine here is kind of funky at times. I have the best luck with Google. Try entering Allis Chalmers 7030 Unofficial Allis and see what happens.

We have a 7030 and a 7050 and really like them both. Good machines for us. Had the 7050 since the late 1990's. The 7030 was bought with a couple scored pistons so it didn't get used until we had it overhauled a couple years ago. Operates the same as the 7050. The 7050 has been trouble free for me for all these years other than an alternator and steering ram ball joints and bushings being replaced in one front spindle because of no grease zerk thereby no grease by previous owner. I've put about 1300 hours on it only and it's at around 5500 right now but those have been pretty much trouble free hours. I did put an air ride seat in it and that was a big plus. I guess some complain about them being hard to get in and out of the cab but it's been no issue for me. The hydraulics are super for a 1974 tractor and the cab is fairly quiet. I have replaced a shift cable and a clutch cable in the 50 and replaced the pivot bushings for the foot clutch linkage in the 30. I really like them both. With regular service (on time oil changes, daily greasing etc) they should last a long time for us.

PS the only complaint I will register is that some gears are about the exact same speed as others so the 20 speed PD is really only about 16 speeds but that was as good as any in it's day.

If you get rid of the OEM steering wheel and replace it with one from a black belly tractor or Gleaner combine, the in/out of the cab will be easier.

Really good tractor,, pulled a 5-16 John Deere plow a lot better than the neighbors 4440. Never had much trouble with it,, only complaint was the seat was kinda plain and like mentioned above the steering wheel made it fun getting out sometimes. Compared to r 7020 it was way more tractor. It was one of tractors dad said we should have
keep,, traded it for an 8070..which was a hell of a step up lol..

Had a 7030 new, way ahead of its time, I think a real good tractor but they are already 40+ years old so you have to be the judge.
