Well i found out i did not know how to operate the system.  I had left the transport valve connected to the one way spool.  Confused  So  I uncoupled it like the ops manual stated.  Had the hyd control in the down position and started the tractor,  The rock shaft promptly went to full up and stayed there no matter what.  so I shut the tractor down and plugged the transport back into the in port on the single spool remote.  The arms went all the way down smoothly by themselves.

So that means to me that hooking up the transport valve to the remote is letting pressure bleed down via the return line on the remote.  The transport also has a return via the T fitting.

Shouldn't the transport depressurize via its own return line on the T fitting?

I am thinking it is time to disassemble the transport valve and look for something that is like stuck in there.

What do you all think?

And welcome back Joe!

Try turning the knob on the transport valve assembly . . . .

A picture of what you have might help us. Sounds like you have some optional equipment that we may not be familiar with.

i can see where my original post may be vague on type of equipment.  This tractor has a single spool remote that is powered hydraulically through/by the out let of the transport valve.

i think kinda common, but have never seen the three spool.

There are two hydraulic levers to the left of the steering wheel. So, with both of them down (horizontal) the lift arms raise up by themselves?? If so, I'd suspicion the Traction Booster linkage is disconnected or badly out of adjustment. Snap coupler or 3-point hitch??

Thanks for the reply Dr.  It is a snap coupler and yes with both levers all the way down the rock shaft goes to the top and stays there.

I studied the service manual last night and am going out to the barn and do the adjustments from the start.

I saw a similar problem in a D-15.

As soon as you let the clutch out, hydraulic pump started running, even with both levers all the way down.

The Traction Booster linkage needed adjusting.

Solved the problem.

I agree.  Play around with your traction booster rod that goes from the snap coupler towards the front of the tractor.

Well guys thanks for holding my hand.

I had distinctly remember adjusting the snap couplar spring,

However (jees i am getting old, or maybe  never could remember anything), I looked under the tractor and loo and behold I had never final adjusted the traction booster rod.

It works OK now.

Thanks for the input.

While on the topic of D-15 II lift arms, I have an issue of when my control levers are down, the lift arms are down and the tractor drives/shifts normal. When I use the lever to lift the arms there appears to be a load on the rear end. When I push the foot clutch in, the tractor movement stops like almost the brakes have a drag, upon letting the foot clutch the tractor will move forward, but the is the hesitance again as the tractor moves forward. With the lift arms up, there just doesn't seem to be the "freewheel" feel when I have the clutch depressed. You really notice if you are on an incline up or down that the tractor doesn't want to roll with the clutch depressed, kinda like the brakes are on even though they are not and adjusted properly. Looking for any ideas.

When the lift arms reach the top of their stroke, you are supposed to move your lift/lower lever to mid-position to shut off the hydraulic pump. You are feeling the hyd pump trying to pump oil when it can't lift anymore.

As the Dr says.  On mine, I once today left it all the way and locked in the up position.  Duuuuh.  So when the rock shaft got to the top the hyd control lever popped off the top raise position like the log splitter does when the cyl is totally retracted.

Just saying that is what I have seen, i don't know if it is spose to be that way or not.
