Have a N5 combine engine in my tractor , pump has been gone through and maxed out approx 24% over I believe. What size injector nozzles can I run on my Bosch injector bodies? Will black belly 7080 nozzles be enough to get me to 250-300hp range?

best of my memory the lines are larger on the N6 over the N5 with the Roosa - you didn't say Roosa or Bosh pump.  The N5 has the 044 tips the N6 had the larger 509 tips. (last 3 # of the tip)
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

N-5/N-6 engines, depending on what year (1978 thru 1984) they are, have Stanadyne (two sizes of plungers) pumps or M-100 Bosch injection pumps, A-C built injectors (.0128" or .0148" holes) Bosch injectors (.31mm and .36mm holes), different lines (hole diameters and Stanadyne pumps only). The 8050/8070 injectors and Bosch pumps were all the same size. I know an 8050 turned 100% "UP" will make 240 HP at the PTO with stock injectors. Old school A-C injectors for me was always .50 mm (.020") hole size (four holes).

N-6 engine of the same age is a DM4-6310 and I always thought I could get 300 cc's out of one of them and used .500mm injector tips set at 2800 psi.

Dr.allis you think it’s possible to run the pump I already have and with the right tips on these Bosch injectors get 250hp out of it or is there just not enough fuel with 135cc’s to get that   I ask this because I already have spent a lot of money on this 4629 pump and would like to get my use out of it   If I can’t get to that power level it’s not the end of the world just wanted to make the 300hp IH and JD guys have to sweat a little

135 cc's can't cut it with any size injectors in my opinion.   An N-5 engine of that era was rated at 190 flywheel HP at I believe 2300 RPM. A 7060 tractor was also rated at that almost identical figure and produced 161 HP at the PTO at 2300 RPM. The 7060 fuel delivery setting was 103 to 107 cc's using 12SD12 test nozzles. So, if your pump is set to 135 cc's, why do you only have 150 HP at the PTO??  From 105 cc's to 135 cc's is about 22% by my math. Wouldn't you expect around 200-210 PTO HP instead of 150 ??

Yes I think it should have at least 200hp but what I’m afraid has happened is when the injectors and pump was gone threw the first time , the pump got messed up so I found another shop that corrected it and set it to what it is now. But I have not redone the injectors so I’m thinking they are set wrong or they have the wrong tips on them   So I was going to pull them back out and have the shop I last used go threw them aswell and if they need new tips I would know what to tell them to use
