A very late model 190XT dual-pump had gears that were .700" wide and delivered 4.25 GPM to the steering via the priority valve spool. The early 200's were the same. Later 200's and maroon 7000's had .900" wide gears and depending on which tractor delivered 6 GPM (200) or 8 GPM (7000) to the priority circuit. The priority valve spool was set-up to deliver the different GPM's because of hydraulic circuit needs for each specific model. What are you trying to do ??

My late series 3 pump had a bad main drive shaft and I got a a used maroon pump for next to nothing I want to use instead they look very similar with the exception of the flow devider. My question is can I run the maroon pump instead without any problems? Thanks

Your tractor was set-up for 4.25 GPM for the steering and Power Director/PTO clutch circuit. At a minimum, I'd be checking the P.D. clutch pressures to be sure they aren't too high !!  especially at full throttle. It might be wise to remove any shims inside the priority spool to help cut down on that 8 GPM priority circuit flow. I've never done this, but I don't scare easily.

Would there be a problem running a higher gpm pump off of the camshaft? When the original pump went out it locked up and broke the camshaft and the tractor got the updated cam and bolt on gear from a early 7000.

no ,  but as Doc stated, the concern is the PS PD flow area.  We just don't want to put more in than can be bypassed w/o upping the pressure.  Follow his advice and test it and see. My bet is the slight wear will drop the GPM to a point it will work and improve the hyd performance ...

Does anyone know if there's different steering cylinders and orbital for the late 200-7000 maroon with the higher gpm or are they the same as a late 190xt would have?

Power steering orbitrol is 70249505 on a 190XT and a maroon 7000.
